What a fantastic find! Everything you want here, especially as the main hotels in the area all seem to need updating. Definitely would recommend. The continental breakfast was fab, lots of options to choose from . The owners/ managers were very friendly and professional.

Tain is a good overnight stop for us on way to Orkney. Attractive property, very clean and comfortable. Good selection for continental breakfast. Highly recommended.

Nice property although it felt odd that no one was there to greet our arrival. The room was comfortable although the shower room felt cramped. Breakfast was continental style but very good with lovely fresh fruit beautifully prepared. Jackie was there in the morning to prepare the breakfast room and was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely. This is a beautiful, comfortable and clean place to stay. The decor is tasteful with thoughtful touches. The continental breakfast was lovely and included fresh fruit. The hostess is sweet and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

My stay at Springfield Hotel in Tain was nothing short of exceptional. This charming hotel perfectly combines comfort, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel at home, always attentive and ready to help with any requests. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the essentials. I particularly loved the cozy bed and the peaceful surroundings, which made for a great night’s sleep. The view of the nearby countryside from my room added a lovely touch to the overall experience. The hotel’s restaurant served delicious meals, with a variety of local Scottish dishes to try. Breakfast was a highlight—fresh, tasty, and plentiful. The location is also ideal, making it easy to explore Tain and the surrounding areas. Whether you're there for leisure or work, the hotel offers a calm and relaxing environment. All in all, Springfield Hotel exceeded my expectations. It’s a hidden gem in Tain, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a pleasant stay in the area. I’ll definitely be back!

Really nice rooms, with a great view, and lovely garden at the back. Check-in is self served and so is breakfast, so you don't get to meet any hospitality, which didn't bother us. Breakfast room is very cozy and nice. I would expect a bit more items - we were a group of 6 and some things were not enough (e.g. only 2 pancakes were in the pastry basket, and we were first to arrive). Other than that, it was perfect for us!

The guest house is on a relatively quiet road and our room had a lovely view across the street to the fields. These beds are SO comfortable, and the rooms are gorgeous as well. We stayed 3 nights as a stop on our way north and then back down south. I recommend visiting the cathedral and museum as well while you are in town! Nice walks down to the water and also up to a forest trail that are accessible by foot (long walk), but I would advise looking into military training times and the rifle club activities as they can be noisy while you walk. Lovely town!

Booked a seaview room, we could only see the sea if we peered through the small gap between the houses at the other side of the road. Room was clean and comfortable. We never saw the hosts so can’t say much about service. Breakfast was continental only (as advertised ) and was OK. Croissants were obviously pre-packed, not fresh. Small pots of berries and creamy local yogurt were very nice. Overall a good stopover and short walk to the 1864 station Restaurant and bar which was excellent.
